I've had a wonderful time, going back and looking over some of the great images I've captured throughout the years. And...oh...was it so hard to choose which would be featured in the competition!

LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING!

We've certainly enjoyed our fair share of snow and (rare) winter sunshine in and around our house this year. My kiddos once again, showed me they must be part eskimo.

But, we're all starting to get tired of it. Chants of "Melt! Melt! Melt!" have begun. Feelings of wanting to drop kick drippy snow boots come over me.

Thoughts of spring also brings excitement for the photo season ahead! So...

The grandpa of this family is something of a celebrity in our household. After a water catastrophe in the house, he swooped in and fixed 'er right up nice. This is the time of year to get cozy, eat fresh donuts from the apple orchard, watch the leaves fall AND...think about Christmas Cards! Introducing the 2010 Christmas Card Designs (keep reading after the pic to get more info!).

A couple of things are new this year! First, you will be able to place pictures on both the front and back sides of your Christmas Card (it'll make it difficult for folks to know which side to display!). Second, the first three designs above show the new die-cut Ornate 5x7 Design. The cards are custom cut in the shape shown. Please note, that you may also order those designs in the Standard 5x7 Design or, if possible, have one of the Standard Designs made into an Ornate Design.

For the Standard Design, the pricing has not changed (yipee!) :: $45 for a set of 25

These are high-quality, press printed 5x7 cards. They can be ordered in sets of 25 for $45.00 per set (including envelopes). With summer quickly approaching, we all love to spend time hanging out with friends and family. Having a Portrait Party is a great way to get everyone together...and capture some memories at the same time! This is a great idea for senior portraits too! Here's how it works ::

1. Gather 4 - 6 friends, couples, families, etc...
2. Choose a location (I'm happy to offer suggestions)*
3. Select a date and time (3:30pm-7:30pm is best)
4. Say cheese!

The Details + Benefits ::
Each mini-session is $25 and will be 15 minutes. You may purchase more than one session if you choose (a good idea if you would like multiple poses or have a lot of people in the pictures).

If you host 4-5 friends, your session fee (up to 30 minutes) is half price. And if you host 6 friends, your session fee (up to 30 minutes) is complimentary AND you'll receive a complimentary 5x7.

All party pictures will be available to proof and purchase in an online gallery (all party attendee pics will be in the same password-protected gallery).

With winter lasting so long, I found myself plucking away at the computer working up a variety of designs for products that showcase all those beautiful pictures.

There's a new link at the top of this photoblog, called "The Designs". If you click on that, you'll bounce to a blog (that looks just like this one, only with different links!). There, you will find designs for things like Baby Announcements, Family Contact Cards, Senior Photo Cards and other products. This will continue to grow, the more I tinker away with designing...so check back there from time to time. You can also ask about custom designs anytime!

Your session fee includes…photographer’s time and talent at the shoot, in addition to photo editing and retouching. All sessions will receive a private web gallery for viewing and ordering. Session fee and $150 towards your minimum print order (see below) is due at the time of the session.

My, oh my, I was the lucky one to get out on a day with a hint of spring in it and take pictures of Andrew. Fifty degree temps in February are a rare treat and let me tell you, I was giddy to get back outside again! Enjoy some pics from the day...

After grabbing some shots outside a music club downtown, the owner asked if we'd like to go inside and take some pictures on stage with lights and all. Ummm....yeah.

It might be six degrees outside today, but spring will come and outdoor sessions will begin! In the meantime, I welcome your booking of indoor sessions for infants and small kiddos on a limited basis throughout the rest of the winter.

We've been going stir crazy in the house lately with all the snow, and I'm afraid the kids have been subject to a camera in their face a bit more lately. They don't seem to mind too much! You also might notice I spruced up the blog a little bit and made the pictures a bit bigger. One can be quite productive in a snowstorm!

This Christmas brought me to Charleston to visit the whole family! While we were there, we grabbed some photos of the 16 of us...and some extras of my niece and nephews. The location is Fort Moultrie...built in 1776 on the coast of South Carolina.

The pictures below are taken against the Fort's walls. Pretty awesome.

This week, I truly enjoyed the drive down one of my favorite roads to visit this family at their home. I love it when the air is crisp, and there's open land all around. It was a beautiful fall evening with a fun family!

My second of two shoots at Spring Grove Park was with the family of a very speedy card player (she always beats me at the game of Peanuts!). It was fun to hang out with her family and capture them in pictures...even if the littlest one wanted no part of it!

Heather and Todd took their vows as the rain finally came to an end at the very beautiful Felt Mansion in Laketown Township, MI (Saugatuk).

So sweet...in this picture below, Heather could not resist greeting her guests from the second-floor window. She looked incredible.

Kari and Mark were married at Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon, Michigan. After a rainy day and an even more rainy weekend ahead...a beautiful evening broke through for their vows on the beach...

Welcome to the new photography blog for Bellflower Design. I am pleased to have my little nephew grace the first post. He's just about the sweetest, strongest, smartest three month old I know.
